Seylan Bank PLC (Sinhala: සෙලාන් බැංකුව Selan Bankuwa) is a publicly owned Commercial Bank in Sri Lanka. It has branches both in urban as well as rural areas of Sri Lanka. Seylan bank had 167 banking centres island wide, 3000 staff members, an ATM network of 205 units covering crucial locations, 9 branches providing 365 day banking in 2020. The bank was formed as a licensed commercial bank which was incorporated with a shareholder base.
Seylan Bank was incorporated on 28 August 1987 as a Public Limited Liability Company and founder chairman was Dr. Lalith Kotelawala. It established its first subsidiary, Seylan Merchant Bank Limited, in 1992. A second subsidiary, Ceylinco Seylan Development Limited was also established in 1992, primarily for the purpose of constructing the Bank's head office building, Ceylinco Seylan Towers.
Seylan Bank introduced Sri Lanka's first homegrown credit card and they also had a partnership deal with Western Union which is a global money transfer system.
PROJECT MANAGER - IT
The Job
- Manage multiple and strategically important initiatives and guide and lead Project Managers, Project Leaders and Teams assigned for these initiatives.
- Managing the cross department teams towards successful completion of projects.
- Develop RFP (Requests for Proposals) for external services and manage vendors.
- Conduct requirement gathering sessions in order to create comprehensive requirements documentation.
- Define project scope and objectives involving all relevant stakeholders and ensure successful and timely delivery of the project within the budget.
- Responsible and accountable to ensure that vendors and internal teams deliver to meet the Bank’s requirements.
- Ensure that industry best practices in Project Management are followed.
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate project management techniques.
- Track project performance, organize and manage all phases of the projects to ensure on time completion.
- Provide status updates, report and escalate to management as and when needed.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
The Person
- Minimum 8 - 10 years experience of which 5 years in Project management in Information technology.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer science or equivalent.
- Experience in MS Project.
- Proven working experience in delivering complex projects.
- Strong communication, interpersonal skills and organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking.
